Cirrus (a cloud storage system for securing sensitive documents), asked Manifesto to reimagine their visual identity—to break it down and built it up from scratch. In doing so, we bypassed the obvious cloud visuals and instead focused on the idea of efficiency.
After a quick Google, I found out that the hexagon is the most efficient shape (it’s why bees’ honeycombs pack so much honey in such a small area). In fact, there is even a mathematical theory that generated an equation to prove this.
Because of this, I pitched an entire visual identity concept based on that idea. The hexagon shape influences everything from the custom letterforms in the wordmark, to the icons and background shapes used on the website and in printed materials.
